Don't be so glum
'bout the pool
where we swum...
And create an imbroglio
It's likely
filled with dead germs
of POLIO...
my Mama always
said so,
back in '43...
And she was usually
always... right!
My, my...isn't it a sad sight
bringing back to mind
old days....old times....
old friends...
and the bright sunny days
when the whole world
was young...
It deserves a few
of our best rhymes.
I do believe
if you scrubbed it out
good and proper, filled it up,
an' opened it one day
an' announced it---
And made it a Coney Island
Hot Dog Day...
A bunch of old-time CHS grads
would show up!
and swim, and laugh...
