THANKS TO MY "BE" ON THE 800TH POST

"B.E." (Beloved Editor)

This is the 800th post to go on
MIL'S PLACE, first published on
March 31, 2011. It is an important
day for those of us who have worked
hard doing it, BE and me.

A BIG TRIBUTE, much thanks, and
a nice hug are due for my "one-in-ten-
thousand," skilled and splendid wife on
this occasion.

Neither of us thought of how many
pieces would be added when she
said: "You ought to be writing." A
couple of other friends had told me
the same thing. She said: "You write
and I'll edit and put  them on a "blog"
for you.

Being a new iPad owner for only three
months, and unlettered in electronics,
I said "What's a blog?" (Today it's a
term I don't favor...not a pretty or apt
word for people's deep thoughts...)

And so we began MIL'S PLACE, a title
that I just suggested, offhand.

My intent for MIL'S PLACE was that it
be a patriotic, All-American collection
of stories and poems--extolling our
parents, teachers, friends, hometown,
schools, the American way of liberty,
and praising the Creator in all things.

I believe we have done that, and with
the help of many old Clovis classmates,
friends, and others from life as it
unfolded. We have even written loving
things about our hometown and its
famous Main Street of red bricks!

When I use the word "we" I am
thinking of some thirty or forty
talented friends who also happily sent
in to be published--over the almost
nine years-- some fine stories and
poems.

Our deepest thanks to all of them.

Now check this about BE...(highly
qualified and a skilled writer herself)---

---has read a "thousand" books...
---recognizes good writing...
---Master's degree plus...
---taught children's public school
      music for 35 years...
---taught music classes at UNM,
      and branches...
---recipient of the Bachelor Award
      and the civic BRAVO Award...
---church pianist 50+ years
---women's vocal specialist
---best speller I've ever known
---lovable, likeable, warm-hearted
---termed by co-workers: "GODDESS
        OF CHILDREN'S MUSIC..."

That's MY EDITOR,       and also
   Life's Companion for almost
        63  years...

And  so: THANKS TO YOU MY
                     DEAR B.E.
It wouldn't have been possible
              without you!

800 !!!!!!!!!!

We're going for 900, but who can
            tell....the future?
