"Delicious...like the tender lips of a maiden..."
Our "Early Girls," planted on May 22,
(on an always-festive-happy-day)
WERE early--but seemed reluctant
to appear in numbers...for a time
Living up to their name, they began
to peek out on life...tentatively
and timidly from the bottoms
and leafy back sides of the vines...
But now, they see it's okay to appear
and the two Early Girl vines
are becoming filled with them...
Oh, they are not great big handsome
'maters but they are beautiful,
tender, flavorful, and delicious...
"in their own right"
like the tender lips of a
maiden and
are almost to die for...
You can't buy these in stores.
They are truly Girls, the epitome
of tomatoes---
Small and graceful while their
bigger, more buxom sisters
are taking their time...to mature.
